The Princess Dress

This dress means everything to me. I was inspired by a lovely RTR reviewer who wore this dress to The Magic Kingdom. My visit was “Cinderella and her Blue” inspired. This dress is simply magical. However, It was very challenging “getting dressed for the Ball” but I didn’t give up, and you shouldn’t either. First, I thought the dress too small because I could not zip it up. But together with a “Fairy Godmother” (aka the hubby), we were able to jiggle and ease the zipper over the troublesome spot that transitions to the rib cage. One person bunches the material together, while the other patiently eases it up. It worked! We practiced several times the day before the event. The XS is not too small for my frame, after all! Once zipped, the dress fit snug but comfortable. However, there is NO WAY I could have worn the XXS, and so I am glad RTR was out. I have an average rib cage, I am a 32D, and my waist is 25. Had I gone larger, the corset might not have provided enough structure for going braless, which was necessary. The corset section is not the most comfortable as the material did itch a bit. I had to adjust it a few times. It did not matter a single bit because this dress garnered so many compliments and the details are so stunning that Cinderella herself commented on its beauty. My “Fairy Godmother” carried my “glass slippers” in a backpack and I changed prior to photos and dinner with the Princesses. At the end of the evening, I was able to ride Cinderella’s Horse on the Carousel (in this dress) resulting in a most magical evening. The cast member operating the attraction loved this dress! I hope these details help those who are trying to decide if this look will work. Don’t give up! Thank you for the inspiration, RTR, and for helping me to fulfill a childhood dream with such sophistication.

You can’t help but feel good wearing this magical dress. I took a risk ordering the XXS - it was the only size available. I crossed my fingers that I could squeeze in, but Selkie is not kidding around, their XXS is teeny tiny! There is no stretch, and I could not zip it fully. An XS likely would have fit. Luckily, my friend and I just rented our dresses for a fun photoshoot, so I still got to wear it and we fixed the back in the pictures!

SUCH a cute dress omg I have never felt prettier. And it looks 10x cuter when you really lean into it and get pastel/floral accessories too! I will say the fit was a little off, but that's more my fault. They didn't have an XS available, which was closer to my measurements, so I had to go with the XXS. I was able to squeeze into it, but I just couldn't take a deep breath, especially once I started eating. If you're like me have a wide ribcage but a flat chest, I would definitely size up because it's more of a babydoll waistline and doesn't sit on the smallest part of your waist. Still, I'm obsessed and this dress got me so many compliments :)

the fit around the bust is a bit awkward, but can be easily fixed with some boob tape!

Where else better to don a crown and dress like a princess than Disneyland? This dress makes dreams come true! I was stopped by so many people either asking me where my dress was from or telling me they loved my Selkie. I even had young girls coming up to me telling me they loved my princess dress. Like most Selkie dresses, it was tight around the ribs, a little difficult to zip up, and the elastic in the sleeves dug in a bit when pushed up to my elbows, but all of that was worth it.

Loved everything about this dress from the style, material and print! It was so comfy to wear on vacation, and I opted for the off-the-shoulder look.

I wore it on my honeymoon and felt amazing! I got so many compliments.

Would recommend trying boob tape for larger busts. It was a little tight but still good!

I couldn’t believe how well this dress fit. It was perfect for a Palm Springs vacation.

This dress was so cute and so easy to wear!! One small thing to note is that the gathering on the sleeves is a little scratchy but you don't notice it after a while. It was the tiniest bit tight on me in the waist, but not so much that it bothered me until the end of the night.

I wore this for my bridal shower and got so many compliments. The fabric is light weight and soft. The bodice is very structured, but fit nicely.

this is fairytale dress - I wore it to work, Central Park, and a wedding rehearsal. I dressed it up with heels and down with loafers / converse. I felt like a princess and received so many compliments!! Truly a dress that's makes you feel good :)

This Selkie dress live up to the fame - it is really well made and super pretty. I got non-stop compliments. The lining is cotton, which is a nice bonus. The dress runs true to size without much give. I'm on my second trimester and now I am closer to a 10 than an 8, so I wish I got it in a larger size. Still, was really fun to wear.

I'm so glad that RTR carries Selkie now! What a beautiful dress! It's definitely a one time wear since it's so memorable. Fits TTS. Has ample room in the chest. It's short but not too bad. The sleeves and neckline are my favorite details. The print is divine. Rent this one!

Love this dress and that it sits more at the natural waist, unlike many of Selkie's dresses that are much higher. You can also wear it with a belt (I had to because I normally wear XL, but it was too small in the rib cage, so I had to size up and the XXL was just slightly loose). The sheer puffy sleeves stay puffed and don't lose their shape either.

I won best dressed at a Kentucky derby party because of this!! I'm 5'11" and it's not too short!

I rented a 1X for my sister who is 5’8 and a 14/16. She loved it!!! She looked incredible.

Pictures don’t do it justice at all. Its stunning! I’m somewhere between a 2 and a 4 and I’m glad I got the XS. It fit like it was tailored. Not a lot of give but it’s pretty true to size.

Gorgeous floaty princess vibes. I wore this to a garden party and received endless compliments. I rolled the sleeves since I'm petite and have shorter arms... but they still looked great!

Loved this dress and felt wonderful! The chest was a little big, but not super noticeable. The back of the dress was slightly longer which is super flattering.

Great dress for twirling on the dance floor! Sleeves are very light so I didn't get hot, fit was flattering, and the whole dress was a fun statement. Knee length on me (5'2). Only complaint is that the seams are a little rough and itchy, so if you're sensitive to that, you should probably skip this dress.

So....I walked into a bar and guess what the first thing I heard? "OMG you look like a princess!" No kidding. I think that about sums it up. Again, if you are busty and don't like the "girls" out, probably not for you. I'm 34DD - -

This dress fit everywhere but was really tight on my wide rib cage. Still was able to dance and have a good time tho! Not see through at all but a itchy sometimes

I am obsessed with this dress but it for weird on my chest. I'm a true size 14 but my boobs looked weird and squished so I didn't end up wearing.

I probably just should’ve gotten the M, but I was worried it would be too short. I didn’t end up wearing it, but I did feel very much like a princess trying it on!

Fabric doesn't look or feel cheap; it's so sleek it won't stay folded up. The sleeves can be worn on or off the shoulder but on provides more bust support. Normally wear a medium so this fit as expected.
